Class A Baseball Regional Tournaments Set

(GoWatertown.net) — The South Dakota High School Baseball season is coming to a close. The Class A region tournaments are scheduled for Saturday, May 21st.
Region 1A will take place at Augustana University and feature the #8 seed Pierre take on the #9 seed Yankton at 5 p.m. Winner will face the #1 seed, Sioux Falls Roosevelt, at 7:30 p.m.
Region 2A will have the #7 seed Sioux Falls Lincoln take on the #10 seed Rapid City Stevens at 3 p.m. then followed by the #2 seed and host Brandon Valley facing the #15 seed Rapid City Central at 5 p.m. 2A Championship will take place at 7 p.m.
Region 3A will pit the #6 seed Sioux Falls Washington against the #11 seed Sioux Falls O’Gorman at 10 a.m. then the three seed and host Brookings take on the #14 seed Huron at noon. 3A Championship will take place at 7 p.m.
Region 4A will see the four seed and host Mitchell face the #13 seed Sioux Falls Jefferson at Noon followed by the #5 seed Harrisburg take on the #12 seed Sturgis. Region 4A Championship is scheduled for 4 p.m.
Region winners will move on to the Class A State Tournament May 28th.
Over in Class B, the regional tournaments are scheduled for May 23rd through 25th.
Redfield Area leads Region 2B with an overall record of 12-0, followed by Sioux Valley in second at 7-2. Castlewood/Deuel sits in the eight spot in the region with a 2-4 record, ORR/Arlington at nine at 1-8, Clark Area at ten with a 1-8 record, and Hamlin at 11 at 0-10.
Dakota Valley leads Region 1B with a 10-2 record, Tea Area is the Region 3B leader at 9-2 while Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake leads Region 4B at 10-0.
The Class B State Tournament will be played May 30th and 31st.
