Class A & B State Tournament Set

PIERRE, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — The Class A and B state tournament brackets have set.

The defending Class B champion Warner (27-9) comes into the tournament as the five seed and will face the four seed Faith (30-3) at 3:45 p.m. CST in the opening round.  The one seed and undefeated Northwestern (30-0) is the one seed and will face the eight seed Bridgewater-Emery (28-6) to open the tournament at 2 p.m. CST.  There will be no rematch of the 2018 Warner vs Northwestern championship game as the Monarchs and Wildcats are on the same side of the bracket this year.

In the night session of the B, three seed Ethan (27-6) will take on the six seed Burke (32-5) at 5:30 p.m. and the two seed Chester (24-7) will face the seven seed Faulkton (22-5) at 7:15 p.m.

In Class A, the defending champion Sioux Falls Christian (26-9) comes into the tournament as the five seed and will face the four seed Winner (26-4) at 3:45 p.m.  The one seed Miller (32-2) will open the tournament at 2 p.m. facing Elk Point-Jefferson (21-12).  Much like the B, there will be no rematch of the 2018 Miller vs Sioux Falls Christian championship game as both teams are on the same side of the bracket this year.

The night session of the A includes the three seed McCook Central/Montrose (24-3) vs the six seed Groton Area (26-7) at 5:30 p.m. and the two seed Dakota Valley (29-3) vs the seven seed Madison (23-8) at 7:15 p.m.

The combined 2019 South Dakota State Volleyball Tournament will be held at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center November 21-23rd.
