RAPID CITY, S.D.–The South Dakota Civil Air Patrol announced on Saturday that it had joined the search for a missing woman in Day County.

According to a news release, Amy Dougherty was last seen when she left for work Wednesday afternoon, driving in blizzard conditions from Andover to Bristol.

She was driving a black Chevy Trailblazer.

Assistance from the Civil Air Patrol was requested by the Day County Sheriff’s Department via the South Dakota Department of Emergency Management.

Lieutenant Colonel Todd Epp says Civil Air Patrol planes flew grid searches and concentrated on areas that previous searches may not have been able to see.

Anyone with information relevant to the search should contact the Day County Sheriff’s Office at 605-940-3208.
