WATERTOWN, S.D.–The city of Watertown is in the early stages of figuring out where to build a new Street Department building where mowers, snowplows and trucks can be worked on and stored.

The current location on Arrow Avenue is small, and some of the buildings aren’t insulated to protect equipment from weather elements.

Last night, the city council agreed to hire JLG Architects of Fargo for pre-design work on a new building.

City Manager Amanda Mack says part of that process will be identifying a site….

Mack says there are other considerations too….

Mack say construction could begin next spring.

The city has budgeted $7.5 million for the project.
