City of Watertown employees getting pay raises, increased longevity pay, added paid holidays in new contract  (Audio)

WATERTOWN, S.D.–City of Watertown employees that are represented by three separate bargaining units have new contracts in place for the years 2022 through 2024.

The contracts were approved by the city council Monday night.

All employees will be getting raises according to City Attorney Matt Roby…

And more paid holidays are being added in…

Mayor Ried Holien says reaching agreements with the three unions came relatively easily, and he believes it’s due to the new form of city government adopted this summer…

There are three separate bargaining units, one for AFSCME (non-management) employees, another for police officers, and one for firefighters.
