FARGO, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — After a miracle hail mary pass to claim victory over their rival South Dakota State, South Dakota (7-3) will play for a share of the Missouri Valley Conference title this week as the Coyotes travel to North Dakota State (9-1).

USD Coach Bob Nielson says it’s easy to move on from how last week’s game ended when you’re playing for a conference championship:

The 2021 spring game in Vermillion was canceled due to COVID-19 protocols. NDSU rolled to a 49-14 home win over South Dakota in the teams’ last meeting in November of 2019. Coach Nielson talks about how the Yotes are preparing for the noise of the Fargodome:

North Dakota State Coach Matt Entz says Coach Nielson has his team believing:

If South Dakota wins, they would share the Missouri Valley Conference title with North Dakota State.  A Bison win would secure them the solo MVFC crown.

Kickoff 2:30 p.m. Saturday and can be heard in the Watertown area on 1480 KSDR.

The 2021 FCS football championship selection show is Sunday, Nov. 21 at 11:30 a.m. CT on ESPNU. The top eight seeds receive a first-round bye and the remaining 16 teams will play first-round games on Saturday, Nov. 27. The FCS Championship Game will be played in Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022.
