CFB: Dakota State handles Dakota Wesleyan

(DSUAthletics.com) — Dakota State (S.D.) continued its football dominance with rival Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.), staying undefeated with their annual Chamber of Commerce traveling trophy (5-0 record) with a 29-19 victory at Trojan Field.

Tyce Ortman paced the Trojans’ offense attack with 18 rushes for 63 yards and a touchdown. He added a 73-yard touchdown reception. Zach Brooks completed 12 passes in 21 attempts for 197 yards with two touchdowns and an interception for DSU. He also rushed 16 times for 27 yards. Jeremiah ‘JJ’ Beck led the Trojans’ defense with 11 tackles.

It was the sixth straight meeting victory for DSU over DWU, the longest winning streak since 1977-84 where the Trojans defeated the Tigers for eight straight meetings.

Dakota State heads on the road next Saturday as they face NCAA Division III Wisconsin-La Crosse
