Cement truck rolls into water in Brookings County; driver injured

SINAI, S.D.—The driver of a cement truck was injured and taken to the Brookings Hospital after crashing the truck Tuesday.

The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office says 31 year-old Kasey Menzel of Lake Preston was on a gravel road that was soft, and had water on both sides of the road.

Menzel lost control of the cement truck and it went off the road where it went into water and rolled.

Menzel sustained unknown injuries. The cement truck is a total loss.

It happened near Lake Sinai. Fire departments from Sinai, Volga and Arlington along with Arlington Ambulance and Brookings County deputies responded.
