CBASE: Jacks rout Tigers in nonconference action

BROOKINGS, S.D. (GoJacks.com) — South Dakota State scored seven runs in back-to-back innings and redshirt freshman Brady Hawkins turned in a solid start in his collegiate debut as the Jackrabbits posted a 17-1, seven-inning victory over Dakota Wesleyan in nonconference baseball action Tuesday afternoon at Erv Huether Field.

In winning for the eighth time in its last 10 games, SDSU improved to 14-17 overall. DWU dropped to 13-21 on the season.

SDSU is scheduled to wrap up its brief two-game homestand by hosting Briar Cliff at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
