Castlewood places third at VFW Class B 14 Tournament

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Champions were crowned during the Class A and B 14U VFW State Tournaments.

In the Class B Tournament held at Bob Wiley Field in Webster, the host Webster would fall to the FH Hitman in the opening round 16-1 and lose to Mt Vernon/Plankinton 10-0 in the consolation bracket.

Groton would open their Class B play with a 7-5 win over Castlewood and lose to Parker in the consultation bracket 6-5.

Castlewood would open their tournament play Friday with a 7-5 win over Groton but lose on Saturday to Canova 13-9.  Castlewood would fall to the FH Hitmen in the 3rd/4th place game 9-8.

Class B Championship would go to Canova as they woul down Gregory 4-1.

The Class A Tournament was held at Greig Field in Chamberlain.  West Central would take home the hardware as they defeated Elk Point-Jefferson 10-2.
