Car crash in northeast South Dakota kills three, injures another

SISSETON, S.D.–A deadly crash in northeast South Dakota has taken three lives and injured another.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says it was a one vehicle crash that occurred just after 11 o’clock Saturday night, 10 miles southwest of Sisseton.

A car was southbound on Roberts County Road 28 when it left the road and entered the west ditch.

The car struck an approach, went airborne, struck a wooden post, landed on the driver’s side, and then caught fire.

Three of the occupants, a 30 year-old woman, and two males, ages unknown, were dead at the scene.

A fourth person, a 29 year-old man, sustained serious injuries. He was taken to Coteau Des Praries Hospital in Sisseton and then was transferred to a Fargo hospital.

The names of those involved have not been released.

The Highway Patrol is investigating to determine which of the four people was driving the car.
