BISMARCK, N.D.–Governor Doug Burgum says it was a tough decision – but he has chosen not to seek a third term as governor.
Burgum was elected in 2016, and re-elected in 2020. He told reporters being governor is the best job he’s had.
Burgum says he doesn’t yet know what he will do next – but he says there are “incredible” opportunities in the private sector – and he will pursue them, if he feels he can make an impact.
