Buddenhagen resigns as Tiger Volleyball Coach

HURON, S.D. (Performance Radio) — Huron Tiger head volleyball coach Shelly Buddenhagen has resigned.

Buddenhagen has coached Huron for the past 12 years and was also the head coach for seven years in the ’90s. Buddenhagen says it just felt like the right time.

She says the program can use some new energy.

Buddenhagen says there are no regrets.

Buddenhagen led Huron to the state runner-up in AA last November, and finished third three times (2010, 2014, 2019) and fourth once (2013), She also led Huron to back-to-back state titles in her first tenure in 1998 and 99.

Huron has reached the state tournament the past 12 years in a row, the longest current streak in AA. Buddenhagen coached a total of 19 years, with 353 career wins.
