Brookings County Sheriff’s Department investigating report of several cattle shot in pasture

BROOKINGS. S.D.—The Brookings County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a case of several cattle being shot south of Bruce.
Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says deputies were dispatched Tuesday morning to a pasture near 207th Street and 467th Avenue.
Three Charolais cows and a Charolais calf had been shot.
Two cows and the calf were killed, and the other cow was wounded.
The shootings happened Monday night.
The cows are valued at $3,000 each, and the calf is valued at $1,000.
The shootings remain under investigation. Anyone with information can contact the sheriff’s office at 605-696-8300.
