Brookings convenience store robbed
BROOKINGS, S.D. — A man with a gun robbed a Brookings convenience store Wednesday night.
Police Lt. Marci Gebers says a man armed with a handgun entered Schoon’s Pump N Pak South on the 1200 block of Main Avenue South
at about 11:13 pm.
There was a clerk and a customer in the store at the time.
Gebers says the suspect pointed the gun at both of them and demanded money. He also shoved the customer at one point. No one was injured.
Gebers says the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. A silver or white Chevy 4-door pickup was seen leaving the area at the time.
The suspect is described as about 5-10, 160 pounds wearing a black hoodie, a black face covering and black shoes with white soles.
Gebers says the clerk and customer did exactly what they should and complied with the suspect’s demands.
