WATERTOWN, S.D.–An increasing number of COVID-19 cases and close contacts has led Watertown School District officials to switch to online learning for high school students the rest of this week.

High school students will report to school virtually effective Tuesday. Staff will be conducting classes at their regularly scheduled time, so students should report online with their regular teacher.

All activities for grades 7 through 12 will be postponed or canceled this week to help, “contain the spread and clear up for those who are already positive or have been exposed and carry the potential for a positive test.”

Attendance will be monitored virtually via the regular classroom teachers, and the district is asking for cooperation of parents to assure that their child is participating this week while at home.
