BREAKING: Sioux Valley High School calls shelter in place due to “dangerous situation with High School student”

VOLGA, S.D.–Sioux Valley High School in Volga had a, “shelter in place” for all students and staff this morning due to a dangerous situation involving a high school student.

Law enforcement authorities were called to the school at 9:46 a.m. according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Depearment.

In a news release issued through law enforcement, Sioux Valley School District Superintendent Laura K. Schuster said, “We had a dangerous situation with a high school students here at school in which we had to call a “shelter in place” for all students and staff. Law enforcement was called in, is on the scene, and the situation is under control. All students and staff are safe.”

The type of incident, and whether it involved some type of weapon has not been released.
