BREAKING: SDSU football coach John Stiegelmeier retiring

WATERTOWN, S.D.–Less than two weeks after leading South Dakota State University to its first national football championship, head coach John Stiegelmeier is retiring.
SDSU has announced an introductory press conference will be held with new Jackrabbits head coach Jimmy Rogers at 10 o’clock Friday morning on the Brookings campus.
Rogers played football at SDSU, and has been an assistant coach on the Jackrabbits’ staff since 2013.
This past season, he served as the Assistant Head Coach.
The 65 year-old Stiegelmeier, a Selby, South Dakota native, had been SDSU’s head coach since 1997.
