BREAKING: Schilken announces departure from Watertown Development Company (Audio)

WATERTOWN, S.D.–After a little more than three years on the job, Chris Schilken is leaving his position as the executive Director of the Watertown Development Company.

He broke the news this morning on KWAT….

Schilken was asked how this new opportunity came together…

Schilken says his role with the Governor Office of Economic Development (GOED) will be much like what he’s been doing in Watertown–just on a statewide scale….

Last fall, Governor Noem was in Watertown to present Schilken with the “Large Community of the Year Award on behalf of GOED.

Schilken will continue to live in Watertown, working for GOED remotely.
