BREAKING: Sanford signs letter of intent on new creating new health system

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.–Sioux Falls-based Sanford Health and Twin Cities-headquartered Fairview Health Services have signed a non-binding letter of intent to combine and create a new health system.
A joint statement says the combined system would bring together Sanford Health’s rural population hospital and clinics with Fairviews’s experience in serving urban populations.
A statement says the combined system would be, “”uniquely positioned to provide more people access to high-quality, equitable health care, accelerate population health and value-based care.”
The proposed $14 billion merger requires anti-trust and other regulatory reviews.
