WATERTOWN, S.D.–Watertown’s June 15th city elections got more interesting today, as former State Senator and current City Councilman Ried Holien turned in petitions to run for mayor.
KWAT News Director Mike Tanner caught up with Holien to ask him about his decision…..
Holien believes he’s the best fit to work with Watertown’s incoming City Manager, Amanda Mack…
This will be a compressed campaign for Holien, with Election Day just over a month away. He’s okay with that…
Incumbent Mayor Sarah Caron is wrapping up her first term, and is running for re-election.
Two candidates who announced for mayor previously were Adam Lalim and Colin Paulsen.
Lalim has withdrawn for personal reasons. Paulsen is now running for a city council seat in Ward B.
