WATERTOWN, S.D.–This summer’s race for Watertown mayor is beginning to take shape.

Tonight, City Council President Adam Lalim announced he’ll run for the job now held by Sarah Caron. He talked with KWAT News Director Mike Tanner about his decision to run…

Watertown’s first-ever city manager will come on board in July, and that’s when the inner workings at City Hall will change significantly…

Lalim enters the race at a time when the city has purchased the downtown Wells Fargo Bank building, with hopes of converting it into a new City Hall…

There’s also the lingering question of a new ice arena, and if the city needs one…

Lalim says he’ll run an upbeat, positive campaign…

Mayor Sarah Caron has said she plans on running for a second term. Also in the race is former Watertown Assistant Engineer Colin Paulsen.

The first day candidates can circulate petitions to get on the ballot is April 6th. The deadline to turn petitions in is May 7th. Election Day is June 15th.
