BREAKING: Local contractor submits low bid to build new Watertown Regional Airport terminal (Audio)

WATERTOWN, S.D.—Gray Construction of Watertown has submitted the low bid to build a new terminal at Watertown Regional Airport.

The sealed bids were opened at City Hall at 2 p.m. Thursday. Gray’s total bid was for $10,232,000. 

KWAT News was there, and talked with Airport Manager Todd Syhre about the bids, which all came in within one million dollars of each other…

Syhre was happy to see a competitive bidding process…

Syhre says building the new airport terminal will take about 16 months from start to finish….

The contract won’t officially be awarded until the September 8th city council meeting.

–Gil Haugan (Sioux Falls)  $10,767,300

–Hasslen Construction (Ortonville)  $10,776,600

–Peska Construction (Sioux Falls)  $11,190,000

–Jans Corportation (Sioux Falls)  $11,201,500

–T.F. Powers Construction (Fargo)  $11,218,700
