Boys and Girls Club of Watertown announces phase one re-opening plans

WATERTOWN, S.D.—The Boys and Girls Club of Watertown has announced an operational recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic that will include safety measures and an operational phase in of some services.

Beginning Monday May 11th, the first phase of service will be to provide childcare for healthcare and emergency workers only. The hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 5:45 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Health screenings of youth and staff will occur prior to entering the facility, with additional temperature checks done throughout the day.

Children will be placed in groups of eight, with two staff members leading a structured daily program plan.

Sanitation procedures will be heightened throughout the facility.

On Tuesday May 26th, the club will offer a summer food service program to all kids 18 and under.

The free daily meal service will provide a lunch, and breakfast for the next day.

It will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in no-contact, drive through method at the club’s main site.

Condtions will re re-evaluated weekly to determine the best course of action for phase two opening operations.
