Boy dies in accidental drowning in James River

FRANKFORT, S.D.–Authorities in Spink County responded to an accidental drowning on Sunday.

A 17-year-old from rural Frankfort, South Dakota, jumped off of a bridge into the James River.

The incident happened south of Frankfort.

Dive teams conducted a search. After two hours, they found the boy’s body.

The incident was ruled an accidental drowning.
