RAPID CITY, S.D.–An autopsy will be conducted today on a body found in the Black Hills Tuesday afternoon that may be that of a missing hunter.

Authorities have conducted several searches for Larry Gelnzlinger of Howard, who went missing in October while elk hunting with his nephew.

A local resident discovered the body while repairing fence in the Deerfield Lake area, which was just a couple of miles from Genzlinger’s last known location.

Just last week, search dogs and their handlers were brought in to look for Genzlinger and Serenity Dennard, a young girl who ran away from a children’s home in the Black Hills, but those searches came up empty.
