Big night by Heesch wasn’t enough as Arrows fall in OT

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — A big night by Maggie Heesch wasn’t enough as the Watertown Arrow girls fell at Sioux Falls Roosevelt in OT 64-59.

Maggie Heesch would have a monster night for the Arrows with 33 points and grab 16 boards. Heesch would go 13 of 19 from the field and six of eight from the charity stripe. Megan Fannin would add 12 points.

Watertown would turn the ball over 14 times in the game and be outscored in the overtime 9-4.

On the boy side of the matchup, a 25-22 lead at the half wasn’t enough as the Arrow boys would fall to Sioux Falls Roosevelt 65-51. Roosevelt would outscore Watertown in the third quarter 21-7 and never look back.

The Arrows were led by Brandon Smith with 16 points going 6-13 from the field and adding three steals. Evan Falconer would contribute 11 points and Dawson Schmidt would grab ten boards.
