Berg to compete at NCAA Indoor Tack and Field Championships

Indianapolis (NSUWolves.com) – The NCAA released the 2021 qualifiers for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships this afternoon, with three Northern State Wolves advancing. Tanner Berg will compete in the weight throw and shot put, while Tava Berg will compete in the high jump and Jordyn Huneke will compete in the pole vault.

The championships will be held March 11-13 in Birmingham, AL at the Birmingham CrossPlex. The University of Montevallo and the City of Birmingham will serve as co-hosts of the championships.

Berg holds the top throw in the nation, and third best all-time in NCAA Division II, in the weight throw with a school record mark of 22.55m (73-11.75). In addition, he ranks 12th nationally in the shot put with a school record throw of 17.40m (57-01.00).

Berg ranks fifth nationally with an automatic qualifying mark of 1.75m (5-08.75) in the high jump, which is also the Northern State school record. Huneke is ranked 12th nationally in the pole vault, clearing 3.98m (13-0.75).
