MANKATO, M.N. (GoWolves.com) — Watertown native Tanner Berg took home two conference championships for Northern State Friday at the NSIC Indoor Championships.

Berg won the first conference championship of the meet for the Wolves, breaking the NSIC meet record in the weight throw with a 21.23m (69-08.00) toss.  He defeated the next closest opponent by over three feet, with every one of his five attempts besting the 20.18m runner-up mark.

Berg went on to win the shot put, with a throw of 17.40m (57-01.00).  He was three feet longer than the runner-up in the shot put for his second conference championship of the day, breaking the NSU school record set by Gerald Schlekeway in 1965 of 17.27m (56-08.00).

As a team, Northern State would take home fourth place with a score of 63.50.
