Berg named USTFCCCA Division II Athlete of the Week

NEW ORLEANS, L.A. (NSUWolves.com) – Northern State University track and field student-athletes Tanner Berg and Jordyn Huneke were honored by the USTFCCCA today, as the Division II National Athletes of the Week. The pair competed this weekend in the Wolves dual sweep at the University of Jamestown.
Berg, a senior from Watertown, South Dakota, won the weight throw on his first throw of the day with a toss of 20.34m. He earned the event crown by more than five meters over the next closest competitor. Berg now sits third on the NCAA Division II Descending Order List.
Huneke, a native of Rapid City, South Dakota, set a personal best of 3.95m in the pole vault, winning the event. Her winning clearance came on her second attempt at that height before missing all three attempts at 4.06m.
This is the first time in program history that a male and female athlete has been named a National Athlete of the Week during the indoor season.
