NEW ORLEANS (NSUWolves.com) – All-Region honorees for the 2021 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field season were announced on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Three Northern State Wolves landed on the list, with one earning two All-Region accolades.
Tanner Berg landed on the list for the men as an all-region performer in the weight throw and the shot put. Berg holds the top throw in the nation, and third best all-time in NCAA Division II, in the weight throw with a school record mark of 22.55m (73-11.75). In addition, he ranks 13th nationally in the shot put with a school record throw of 17.40m (57-01.00).
Tava Berg and Jordyn Huneke represented the Northern State women in the high jump and pole vault. Berg ranks fourth nationally with an automatic qualifying mark of 1.75m (5-08.75) in the high jump, which is also the Northern State school record. Huneke is ranked 12th nationally in the pole vault, clearing 3.98m (13-0.75).
To earn All-Region honors, an athlete must be one of the top-5 individuals in their events in their respective region. In addition, each member of a region’s top-3 relay team was selected for the distinction. Top Regional Performers (TRPs) are denoted with an asterisk.
