PIERRE, S.D. (Dakota Radio Group) – Terry Becker has resigned as Pierre Governor Boys Basketball head coach.

Becker was the Governors’ head coach for 17 seasons, compiling a record of 201-202. Three of his teams had 20-win seasons, including the 2012-13 Governors, who won the school’s fourth boys basketball state championship and first since 1982.

This past season, Pierre was 7-13, improving from only one win in 2019-20.

Before coming to Pierre, Becker, a graduate of Mount Marty University, was the head coach for two seasons at Dell Rapids St. Mary and led the Cardinals to the 2004 class B championship.
