BBB: Wessington Springs and De Smet move on to B SoDak 16

HURON, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Wessington Springs would come back to beat Deubrook Area to open the Boys Region 3B Friday at the Huron Arena as heard on New Country KS93.

Down 22-17 at the half, the Spartans would outscore the Dolphins 25-17 in the final two frames to come away with the 42-39 victory.

Deubrook was led by Andrew Trooien with 13 points, Mason Shaw added 10 and Nick Bowne ended the night with 13.

Mason Schleske’s 18 points would lead the Spartans.

Deubrook ends their season with a record of 15-7.  Wessington Spring will face Canistota at the Mitchell Corn Palace at 6:30 p.m. on Mach 9th in the Boys B SoDak 16.

De Smet would end the year of Castlewood 60-40 in the final Boys Region 3B game Friday in Huron.

Four Bulldogs would tally double figures led by Kalen Garry with 18 points, Damon Wikinson added 12 off the bench, Tory Holland had 11 and Rett Osthus ended the night with 10.

Garrett Kerkviett was the leading scorer for Castlewood with 11. Carson Kriwan and Beau Schooley each would add nine.

Castlewood ends their year with a record of 10-12.

De Smet is the one seed in the Boys B SoDak 16 and will face Timber Lake on Tuesday, March 9th in Redfield. Game time 7 p.m. on New Country KS93.
