BBB: Florence/Henry comes back to defeat Waubay/Summit

SUMMIT, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Tegan Sumner led Florence/Henry with 14 points off the bench in the Falcons 51-50 comeback win over Waubay/Summit Thursday night in high school boys basketball.

As heard on New Country KS93, the Falcons did not score their first points until 3:47 in the 1st quarter and trailed 16-8 and the end of the first. Florence/Henry would come marching back in the second quarter and trail 29-24 at the half. Braden Brandriet would give the Falcons their first lead of the game as time expired in the third quarter:

Both teams would battle in the fourth quarter but in the end, Florence/Henry would hold on. In addition to Sumner’s 14 points, Cole Busskohl would add 13 and Brandriet with 11.

Damon Opdahl would lead Waubay/Summit with 17 points, Johnathan Johnston with 11, and Seth Gaikowski would add nine.

The Mustangs fall to 11-4 and host Northwestern on Saturday. Florence/Henry improves to 9-4 and travels to Tri-State tonight.
