BBB: Aberdeen Christian and Waubay/Summit set sights on SoDak 16

ABERDEEN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Aberdeen Christian needed overtime to overcome Waverly-South Shore Friday night in the Boys Region 1B at the Aberdeen Civic Arena.

Tied at 42 apiece, the Knights would come away with a 10-5 advantage over the Coyotes in the free frame to come away with a 52-47 win.

Tanner Fonder’s 16 points would lead the Coyotes, Aden Comes added 11, Austin Applehof had nine and Davin Quail ended the night with eight.

Malek Wieker notched 18 points for the Knights. Ethan Russell added 13.

Waverly-South Shore ends their season with a record of 14-5.  Aberdeen Christian will face Platte-Gedds at the Huron Arena at 7:30 p.m. in the Boys B SoDak 16 March 9th.

Waubay/Summit would end the season of Warner 53-51 in the other Boys Region 1B game from the Aberdeen Civic Arena.

Colby Rumpza led the Mustangs with 14 points, JT Gulbraa added nine, Damon Opdahl had eight and Skyelor Strang would add seven off the bench

Hunter Cramer’s 17 points would lead the scoring for the Monarchs.

Warner ends their season with a record of 15-6.

Waubay/Summit will face White River in the Boys B Sodak 16 at the Mitchell Corn Palace at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9th
