Class B State Tournament at Mitchell

Dimock/Emery 4, Castlewood 3
A late score by Dimock/Emery would end the season of the Castlewood Monarchs at the Class B Amateur Baseball Tournament. Tied 3-3 going into the eighth inning, the Raptors would put a one spot on the board that would end up being the winning run. Final 4-3. Blayne Schliesman would have two hits for the Monarchs. Kellan Benck would go eight innings on the hill, issue 24 first-pitch strikes, and have two of the six Castlewood hits in the game. The Monarchs end their season with a record of 7-13.

Milbank 8, Platte 4
Nine hits for Milbank was enough to send them on two the second round of the Class B Amateur Baseball Tournament by defeating the Platte Killer Tomatoes 8-4. Dom Boerger would have a two-hit, three-RBI night for the Firechiefs and toss three and a third in relief on the mound, striking out three. Justin Larson would go five and two-thirds in the starting role, fanning six while issuing 11 first-pitch strikes. Milbank will face Dimock/Emery in the second round of the tournament on Sunday, August 8th at 5:30 p.m.
