BASE: Fargo 400 takes three of four of a weekend series with Watertown Post 17

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) – Watertown Post 17 would take one of the four games in a weekend series with Fargo Post 400.

Game one on Saturday saw Fargo take the W 3-1. Ben Althoff led the way for the purple and gold with one hit and one RBI. Kyle Karst pitched six innings allowing six hits, two runs, one earned, walking three while fanning six.

Watertown would win game two Saturday 2-1 on a walk-off wild pitch. Drew Denzer had two of the five Post 17 hits. Braedon Zaug pitched six innings allowing for hits while striking out six and walking five.

On Sunday, Fargo Post 400 would defeat Watertown in game one of the day 2-1. Denzer and Zaug had both of the Watertown hits. Jerod Cyrus pitched six innings allowing four hits, two runs, both earned, fanned six while walking four.

Fargo Post 400 would get the bats going in the final game of Sunday en route to a 11-5 wins. Denzer had a two-hit, two-RBI afternoon for Watertown. Bryce Hult also had two hits. Althoff and Thacher Roth each sent one past the plate. Jack Heesh pitched four innings allowing six hits, four runs, walked two while striking out three. Weston Everson pitched three innings in relief.

Watertown Post 17 (3-3) travels to Rapid City Post 22 for a weekend series Saturday and Sunday.
