WATERTOWN, S.D.—It appears Watertown Regional Airport has seen the worst of the pandemic as it relates to decreased passenger traffic.

Numbers for August essentially held steady with July.

Airport Manager Todd Syhre tells KWAT News 614 passengers boarded flights last month. That was down slightly from the 633 in July.

Numbers dropped to less than fifty this spring, when the pandemic began to cripple the airline industry.

Watertown is served by non-stop United Express flights to Denver and Chicago.
