As one snow system departs, another prepares to enter the region for Thanksgiving weekend (Audio)
ABERDEEN, S.D.–Roads were snow covered and slippery in spots Wednesday morning as eastern South Dakota got brushed by a winter storm system that’s moving off to the northeast.
Watertown picked up about an inch of snow. Brookings got a little more—about 3 to 4 inches there.
National Weather Service forecaster Ryan Vipond says if you’re getting a head start on Thanksgiving travel today….you should be in pretty good shape…
But another storm system moves through starting on Thanksgiving Day, and that will impact the region into the weekend…
He says they’re not ready to talk about snowfall amounts with that weekend storm just yet….
A Winter Weather Advisory is posted for the Watertown area from noon Thursday until noon Friday, as a wintry mix of precipitation is possible, which could result in slippery travel conditions.
