Arrows place nine, take home fourth place at State A Wrestling Meet

RAPID CITY, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — Watertown would take home fourth place as a team at the Class A Wrestling Tournament at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.

The Arrows would take home a team score of 137.0. Brandon Valley took home first place with a score of 188.0.

After being bounced by Harrisburg 39-28 in the dual tournament Thursday, the Arrows would go on to place nine in the tournament.

Sloan Johannsen would take home a state title in the 106.  Ben Althoff in the 152 and Lexan Thorson in the 170 would take home second-place finishes. Connor Wirtjes in the 220 placed third. Connor Hanson would place fifth in the 120. Brock Eitreim in the 195, Tyler Rudebusch in the 182, and Mac Young in the 160 would all take home 6th place. Tyler Dean placed eighth in the 285.

Watertown will graduate six seniors, Tyler Dean, Tyler Rudebusch, Lexan Thorson, Connor Wirtjes, and Blake Zastrow.
