YANKTON, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — The Watertown Arrow Volleyball Team began their defense of the Class AA title Thursday night by defeating Yankton 3-0. Set scores of 25-15, 25-16 and 25-17.

At the serving stripe, Jadyn Hoftiezer would go 21 of 22 with one ace. Karli Hanten a perfect 11 of 11 with two aces. On the attack, Emerson Smith would notch 16 kills, Hoftiezer with eight and Maggie Heesch with seven. Olivia Corey would lead the Arrows in ace assist with 19 and 21 digs.

In the lower levels, Freshman B (25-23, 26-24) Freshman A (27-25, 25-11) and Sophomores (25-9, 25-18) would all come away with a victory. The JV squad (22-25, 18-25) would fall to the Gazelles.
