Arrow girls blanked in opener

WATERTOWN, S.D. (GoWatertown.net) — The Watertown Arrow girls soccer squad fell in their opening game of the season 3-0 to West Central Friday night.

In net for Watertown, Tierney Hodorff had 9 saves and 3 goals against.

“It was a good match but the Arrows came out slow,” said Coach Casey Feininger.  “The girls found a great rhythm the second half and I expect to follow up with that on Tuesday against Brookings.”

Watertown girls JV held off West Central 3-2.  Stephanie Lentsch, Lucy Lentsch and Aspen Reynolds each had one goal for the Arrows.  In net, Mya York had four saves and one against and Jessalyn Holden had six saves and one against.

Watertown (0-1) stays home to face Brookings Tuesday night at the Anza Soccer Complex.  Girls game up first at 4, followed by the boys at 6 p.m.
