MADISON, S.D. (DSUAthletics.com) – The Dakota State University athletic department has set the pairings for the upcoming annual girls’ basketball classic on Jan. 16 at DSU Fieldhouse (1302 N. Washington Ave.). A total of 12 teams are scheduled to compete in the classic.

The six-game schedule kicks off at 12 noon with Freeman taking on Oldham-Ramona/Rutland and ends with a pair of ranked teams from two different states. Viborg/Hurley, currently ranked No. 5 in South Dakota Class B, will take on Crofton (Neb.), who is ranked No. 2 in Nebraska Class C-2.

Other pairings include Arlington vs. Canistota at 1:30 p.m.; Andes Central/Dakota Christian vs. Tri-Valley at 3 p.m.; Warner vs. Garretson at 4:30 p.m. and Madison vs. Howard at 6 p.m.

Admission to the game are $8 for adults, $4 for K-12th grade and free for pre-school and younger. All fans must wear face masks/coverings or shields when they enter the DSU Fieldhouse.

DSU Athletics’ is currently on level 2 for athletic attendance, which is limited to 33 percent or approximately 265 fans. The fans will be asked to clear the gym after each game, but they can leave and return for the next game if they keep their ticket.

The annual boys’ basketball classic is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23. The pairings will be announced next week. Stay tuned to the DSU athletics’ website for the pairings and game times.
