WATERTOWN, S.D.–It’s been a challenging harvest seasons in northeast South Dakota, with frequent weather systems that have brought rain which has slowed, or in some cases, stopped field work entirely.

That’ll be the case again today as rain tracks across eastern South Dakota. National Weather Service forecaster Aaron Dorn says it’ll be an all-day rain event up and down the Interstate 29 corridor…

As for total rainfall amounts…

For the year, Watertown has received just under 24 inches of precipitation, which is about 2 1/2 inches above normal.
