Althoff and Stroup choose Northern State

ABERDEEN, S.D. (NSUWolves.com) — Northern State University head coach Rocky Burkett has announced the signing of Watertown wrestlers Ty Althoff and Sam Stroup who will join the Wolves in the fall.
Ty Althoff is a 133-pound wrestler out of Watertown High School. He is a 4-year starter and team captain for the Arrows under the direction of head coach Chas Welch. Althoff has 102 career victories placing fifth at 106-pounds in 2018 and second at 120-pounds in 2019. He is a 2-time all-conference performer. He is the son of Aaron and Christina Althoff.
Sam Stroup is a 165-pound wrestler out of Watertown High School. He is a 4-year starter and team captain for the Arrows under the direction of head coach Chas Welch. Stroup is a 3-time state qualifier, placing once in his career. Watertown won the conference championship in 2017 and 2018. He is the son of Rich and Susie Stroup.
Althoff and Stroup are two of eight athletes who will join the wolves for the 2020-21 season.
