WATERTOWN, S.D.–Absentee voting has become a popular option for the June 2nd election given the ongoing pandemic.

In Codington County, Auditor Cindy Brugman says her office has received 2,775 applications for absentee ballots.

So far, 1,510 absentee ballots have been filled out and returned. Of that number, 871 ballots are from registered Republican voters, and 639 are from Democrats.

Absentee ballots can be mailed to the auditor’s office, or dropped in a lock box at the south entrance of the county courthouse.
