Aberdeen City Council approves ordinance allowing golf carts on some city streets (Audio)

ABERDEEN, S.D.- The Aberdeen City Council this week approved the second reading on an ordinance allowing golf carts to be driven inside the city. Prior to the vote, some citizens of Aberdeen expressed concerns about the safety aspect of allowing them on the streets.
Aberdeen Police Chief Dave McNeil discussed the safety concerns.
The City Council approved the ordinance on a 9-0 vote. It will go into effect 20 days after it gets published. That’s expected to be in the middle of May.
