950 doses of Moderna vaccine go unused at Watertown event (Audio)

WATERTOWN, S.D.–A whopping 950 doses of the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine went unused at a mass vaccination event in Watertown Thursday.

Staff had 1,400 doses to administer, but only 450 were put into arms.

That means this message from Prairie Lakes Healthcare System CEO K.C. DeBoer apparently is falling on deaf ears to some…

Thursday’s event was opened up to anyone 18 and older, and that included walk-ins right off the street.

With so many unused doses, it would appear many younger adults are not electing to get the vaccine.

If they think they’re immune from Covid, DeBoer says think again…

So what happens to those 950 unused doses??

Watertown will hold another mass vaccination event April 14. It’s open to everyone 18 and up.
