WATERTOWN, S.D.—Winter storms and fall harvest work are not a good combination, but that’s what South Dakota producers will be dealing with over the next several days.
Parts of the state could see a foot or more of snow at a time when producers are anxious to get their beans and corn out of the field.

A wet summer, and now an early winter storm means just getting a combine into the field, in many cases, will be difficult….
