Six year-old boy dies of injuries sustained in Brookings County crash

BROOKINGS, S.D. – A 6-year-old boy has died from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday, March 7, three miles east of Brookings.

 

A car was westbound on U.S. Highway 14 when the driver lost control on an icy stretch. The car slid across the center line into the eastbound lane and collided with a semi truck.

 

All three passengers in the car were injured. Ethan Rosa of Aurora, South Dakota died this past weekend in a Sioux Falls hospital. The other passenger, a 10-month-old male, also received life-threatening injuries and remains hospitalized in Sioux Falls. The 27-year-old female driver suffered serious non-life threatening injuries.

 

The 44-year-old male driver of the semi was not injured.
